People who hold Bar Association memberships are subject to the authority of the Bar Association which itself operates under the perview of the Judiciary. Attorneys wishing to serve as Chief Executive or Member of Congress should therefore be required to permanently surrender their status as "officers of the courts" before serving, or limit their service at that level of government to service on the Supreme Court.
