In the tragic wake of the Orlando shooting, reform on gun control is a necessity. By ending gun free zones we will effectively reduce mass shootings by 92%. Gun free zones are not the solution to preventing these deadly attacks. Its creation has given gun owners a place to kill large numbers of people, knowing they will be unarmed. Stricter gun regulations are also in order. Proper enforcement of thorough background checks and mental health screenings across all states, will deter the mentally ill. This will give gun ownership to citizens who are less of a threat to the safety of our civilians. Furthermore, we are proposing a ban on selling or owning AR-15 military semi automatic rifles, on a federal level. Gun owners will then be able to keep their rights and the public will be kept safe.
