The twenty-second amendment to the United States Constitution acknowledged the risk of allowing a single individual to remain in power for too long, and introduced the idea of "term limits" on the Office of President.
We need the same protections to our freedom by introducing the same concept of term limits to members of Congress.
Members of Congress spend anywhere from 30% - 70% of their time in elected office raising funds so they can keep their seat in the next election. This inordinate amount of time fundraising does not serve the people who elected them.
Serving your country as a member of Congress should be viewed as public service, not a career. Enforcing term limits will end "career politicians", and end the dead-lock in Congress.
We are a Democracy, not an Oligarchy!
