The Department of Homeland Security (DHS)has reportedly acquired an estimated 1.6 billion rounds of ammunition, enough to sustain combat operations for more than 20 years. Other reports note that DHS is acquiring about 7000 new fully-automatic rifles and varying numbers of MRAP vehicles.
