to enforce Veteran's Day as a National holiday with the same level of respect as given to other national holidays

With many of the National Holidays, both Federal and State observances occur, including the closing of schools. Veteran's Day is one such holiday where the same respect is not shown. The importance of Veteran's Day, the sacrifice all Veterans have made to this country, and their ongoing sacrifice should not be overlooked. By our schools not be closed, we devalue the sacrifices our Veterans made to keep this great country safe. Send a message from the federal government that Veteran's Day should be shown the same respect as other holidays in which our schools close.
