As we dominate in other areas internationally, it is time we focus on dominating in education. According to Harvard Unversity's Program on Education Policy & Governance, as our youth struggle in subjects such as math and reading, so will the economy. The drop-out rate for high schools around the country has increased to a whopping 75%. In New York, 7000 undergraduate students responded that they struggled in college due to a lack of critical thinking, complex reasoning, and written communication, all of which are skills that should be developed during pre-middle school age. By requiring pre-grade school education students will prosper in a soley enriched curriculum in middle - high school. By giving them tools to suceed early on, they will excell in college. Better our future and children!
