Drones, as well as other military robotic devices either in deployment or development, have been known to cause lethal harm to civilians on a regular basis. Therefore, I petition that all future robotic devices produced with U.S. government funds be certified as Three Laws Safe.
For those unfamiliar, the Three Laws of Robotics (via Isaac Asimov) are:
1. A robot may not injure a human being or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm.
2. A robot must obey the orders given to it by human beings, except where such orders would conflict with the First Law.
3. A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Laws.
This will ensure an end to the massacre of innocents at our hands.
