The situation in Eastern Aleppo is dire. According to Secretary-General of the UN Ban Ki Moon, “Civilian deaths and injuries continue at a brutal pace as [we] receive credible reports of scores of civilians being killed either by intense bombardment or summary executions by pro-Government forces.” Syrian journalists and activists on social media have shared gruesome videos of people burning alive as well as first hand accounts of war crimes.
We respectfully ask you to ensure all civilians, medical personnel and rescue workers are accompanied out of Aleppo by the United Nations or the International Committee of the Red Cross immediately. Please help put pressure on Syrian authorities and their allies, Russia and Iran, to honor their obligations under international humanitarian law.
