Elected officials continue to propose legislation but exempt themselves from those laws. A basic tenant of this nation is equality of opportunity and the responsibility of the government is to maintain a level playing field for all Americans. Legislators are creating themselves as a special class inside our society. This needs to stop. I call on the administration to veto any law with a provision setting members of our legislature, or other elected or appointed member of government, apart from all other citizens and to propose legislation to make any law setting any such governmental official apart from the laws as they apply to all other citizens.
