Ensure and enforce the separation of church and state in the federal government.

In recent months, it has become obvious that the separation of church and state, a mandate in the constitution, is not being upheld. Policies that strongly uphold christian beliefs such as criminalizing abortion and abstinence only sexual education have been discussed in Washington. Put simply, the purpose of this petition is to end such behaviors that favor one group. That being said, purposed legislation which is alleged to have a bias toward a religious group can move forward if an investigation finds the claim of bias to be incorrect. The purpose of this petition is not to end all legislation a certain group finds unfavorable; it is to enforce a simple idea this country was founded on.
