October 5th, 2013, a bill was passed that will back pay ("as soon as practicable") federal employees affected by the furlough... EXCEPT Federal Contractors!
There are still a few hundred thousand federal employee contractors, of the 800,000 federal employees furloughed, who will not be receiving the paycheck that the government prevented us from earning. On top of losing their paychecks, most federal contractors were also required to use their Paid Time Off (PTO). In the end, this causes these contractors to be without the paycheck they should have been able to earn, and leaves them without PTO most would have liked to take for holidays.
To Highlight:
1) Federal Contractors are still not being back paid for furlough days.
2) Most federal Contractors lost some if not all of their PTO.
