This petition seeks to frame the weapon violence debate within the founding principles of our Republic so that solutions can be sought which do not fall into simple "pro-gun" or "gun control" categories. The individual and empowering right to bear arms enshrined in the 2nd Amendment should be distinguished from weapons, weapons usage and distribution intended to destroy the domestic tranquility which the Preamble sets as a purpose of the entire Constitution including the Second Amendment.
