The general public (in some markets) is being forced to purchase gasoline with Ethanol added. The Gasoline/Ethanol blend is causing damages to automobile engines. Older vehicles (non-flex-fuel) are: 1.) Made with rubber fuel lines which are dissolved by ethanol, 2.) Have Oxygen sensors that are not designed to function with ethanol, 3.) The on-board computer is not calibrated to recognize ethanol, therefore fuel economy is compromised. In addition to automobiles, marine engines and, motorized lawn equipment (string trimmers, edgers, lawnmowers, garden tillers, etc) are plagued by similar issues.
This petition asks for remedy by allowing Ethanol-Free gasoline to be sold to those who wish to purchase Ethanol-Free gasoline.
