It has recently been brought to light via national media that the heir to the Du Pont family fortune was given only probation after having raped his toddler daughter. This is a grave injustice and an insult to the people of this nation. Wealth should never be allowed to buy freedom for a crime as incomprehensible as this.
We the people implore of you, our elected officials, to investigate this matter fully and ensure that justice is done. To think that a man can be convicted of raping a baby and spend not a day behind bars should infuriate every citizen of this great nation. No matter a man's status, his wealth, or his power is he ever above the law, and there is no law more sacred than those that protect our children from sexual predators. His sentence was an abomination of justice.
