Abortion is a legal right in the United States. Birth control is a critical resource. Fetuses are not people.
Currently religious organizations are able to operate hospitals and deny abortion and birth-control to patients.
Catholic hospitals are entering into mergers with secular organizations and demanding that their rules on reproductive health be obeyed.

This is a denial of basic agency at a vulnerable time for patients. There is not time to pick and choose when being transported in an ambulance.
The morality of health care providers can not be allowed to trump the morality of the land or the rights of the individual.
