Ensure that no American confronts the perils of the digital-age without being properly equipped to do so.

We are creating this petition as a group of Policy Studies students at Georgia State University. According to USC 47 Ch. 12 the federal government is dedicated to fortifying the nation's broadband communications capabilities. We believe that the federal government should go a step further and play a role in providing access for citizens to broadband communications systems. The federal government must ensure that no American is denied access to a public good on the grounds of affordability. The federal government also has a responsibility to protect the most vulnerable amongst us. People that are without access to the internet are at a serious disadvantage, and most often these are the people who are in the greatest need of a sliver of hope.
