With recent events in mind, it appears that in the near future there could possibly be an attempt to limit freedom of speech online. This would be a direct violation of the First Amendment of the United States Constitution, so any attempts will likely not get past the planning stage. Even though the previous statement remains true, there is always a chance for a document to play with the rules enough to be constitutional, but still have a negative effect on our free speech.
By signing this petition, each individual standing beside me would simply like a vow that any such attempt that limits freedom of speech online, no matter how slight, will be stopped in its tracks before anyone even thinks of putting it through a vote.
