Ensure public safety of citizens of the united states by offering adequate defensive measures in public settings

The mass murder of innocent American citizens of all ages that has occurred in public settings has been nothing short of tragic. Currently the government has strict bans on all weapons in government buildings (including any form of education facility that receives government assistance) and most public places of shopping and entertainment (malls, theaters, etc). These laws effectively takes away the right for US citizens to defend themselves while offering no additional security or protection to them and their loved ones in such settings were people who ignore those laws can (and do) employ harsh violence against citizens. The federal government should offer an effective and constantly present force to defend against these terrible acts if they aim to keep their populace defenseless.
