State and religion are to be seperate. This means that things such as same sex marriage should be made legal since governments, "shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion." *Quote THE FIRST AMENDMENT*
Take for instance 1968 when the Court said that it was unlawful for Arkansas schools to forbid teaching evolution.
I understand that many states have legalized same sex marriage, but you must be more stern with the more religious states such as Utah, were an established religion, (Mormonism) is very obvious, along with the fact that it is mostly republican and go against this sort of thing.
