the United States Park Police aviation unit is responsible for law enforcement, medivac services, search and rescue, and support of presidential security in and around the Washington DC, Maryland, and Northern Virginia areas. this unit has saved thousands of lives since its inception in the 1970's. currently, the unit has aging equipment and insufficient budgetary support to continue their vital mission. This petition is to garner support from the top executive to provide sufficient funding for the unit to continue their final work in protecting the public in around our nation's capital. Recently, the unit has seen involvement in missions such as the Navy Yard shooting, response to occupy DC and response and medivac on 9/11.
