The residents of West Virginia are receiving contradicting information. We have been told over and over that our water is safe, yet there is still an odor and various reports to the contrary. (For example one of WOWK TV’s top stories “W.Va. official: People are inhaling formaldehyde” stated that “MCHM that spilled into the water supply ultimately can break down into formaldehyde”.)
My area was considered “safe” on January 15. Two weeks and five “flushes” later my water still has the very strong licorice-like smell. The people of West Virginia need to be and feel safe using the water that we pay for. We need for this to be gone. We need to know when all traces of these chemicals will be gone. We need to know if we are at risk of future disease caused by exposure.
