It is the right of every adult citizen to vote. In light of the recent Supreme Court Decision allowing local changes to be made to voting identification requirements, it should be made mandatory that the burden of fulfilling those requirements should rest on the local authority making the change. For example if a new requirement for a photo ID is enacted then it would be incumbent on the enactor of this change to seek out and provide at their expense such an ID to every previously registered voter. Failure to do so should negate the requirement. This would help to prevent frivolous requirements being made to suppress voter turn out or put undo financial or physical burden on voters to fulfill these new requirements. The right of every citizen to vote should not be encumbered by anyone.
