Enter into negotiations with the Cuban Government to secure the release of Alan Gross, a US citizen imprisoned in Cuba.

Created by M.R. on June 26, 2014

Alan Gross, a native of New York, is an international development worker. He worked as a subcontractor for the US Government in Cuba in an attempt to end Cuba's "information blockade" by bringing internet access to Cuban citizens. Known by friends as friendly & idealistic albeit naive, Gross was eager to work on the project but not fully aware of the risks. He was arrested in November, 2009, by Cuban authorities & charged with "Acts against the Independence & Territorial Integrity of the State". Alan Gross was sentenced to 15 years in prison, four of which he has served. He is suffering from severe arthritis & is suffering mentally, making it imperative that the US act now.
