Tie changes to social security and Medicare to federal elected officials pay, retirement and health care benefits. Any increase in federal elected officials pay would be the same increase in social security. Retirement ages would be the same. Medical benefit changes, increases in co pay or monthly payments would increase at the same rate. This might not save much money. However the federal government should share in the efforts to fiscal responsibility . Tax paying citizen's entitlements and federal elected officials benefits should be linked. After all it is the taxpayers that fund both but are the first to be asked to change for the good of the country.
