The epidemic our foster system has created.

Created by F.J. on April 21, 2016

A majority of the children growing up in foster care, are deprived of many of the simple joys of adolescence. Subsequently, at eighteen, a vast majority are not mentally prepared to handle the obstacles and challenges of everyday life. Males, are at a greater risk of being involved with gangs. The females, are at a greater risk of domestic violence. Studies have shown about 45% of children leaving care, will become homeless within one year. National data shows, that 43 percent of women and 74 percent of men, who are emancipated from foster care, have been incarcerated at least once in their lives. In addition during a national study of prison inmates, more than 38% report having a history with the foster system. Why is the program put into effect to help our children, causing so much harm?
