Equal Pay for Women

The Declaration of Independence has the phrase "all men are created equal under their creator". No one assumed the the " men" part would be taken literally. I believe that the " men" part describes all human being no matter the race, gender, or size. Women have been active since the beginning of the first World War. A benefit that women received from WWI is the 19th amendment giving women the right to vote. Women took up jobs that would not have normally been allowed during WWII. Since then women have not been given equal pay as men. The Equal Pay Act that was passed during Kennedy's presidency has enabled the increase of women wages throughout the years from 50 cents of a man's dollar to 70 cents in the 1990's. Men are not superior to women and I believe that women deserve equal pay.
