This petition is for equal treatment for all government employees. As a direct result of sequestration, all branches of the military have halted education Tuition Assistance (TA). All military members were guaranteed education assistance as a reward for their military service. The government has now lied to these military members and removed this benefit. If military members are going to bear the brunt of many of these cuts, any and all spending cuts that affect the pay and entitlements of Active Duty, Retired Military, and DOD Civilians should equally affect all government employees. This includes members of the Senate, House, and White House to include the President. Why is it the very people passing these laws are completely unaffected by them.
