D.C. stinks, literally.
The Brown Marmorated Stinkbug is a foreign invader, and a nuisance. This insect has threatened the livelihood of farmers across the east coast, and could eventually spread throughout the country. It has an insatiable appetite eating a wide variety of crops, and resists pesticides and weather extremes.
Researchers know that it has few natural predators here and plan on introducing a parasitic wasp to deal with this problem. The problem is that these wasps could also damage other insects and not target the stinkbug.
This petition asserts that the government immediately address the issue and eradicate it. Research is being done by universities, meanwhile their numbers continue to climb. More research must be done, quickly, and the government should lead the charge.
