The electoral college is the cornerstone of our presidential election. Yet, many Americans fail to understand how the outdated process works.
Every state is assigned a number of EC votes, based on population. Depending on the votes in each state, the EC votes are awarded accordingly to each candidate. The first candidate to reach 270 EC votes, will be out next President.
But shouldn't the popular vote of the country be what decides the president? Not the voice of a few? Because of the electoral college, a presidential candidate can win the popular vote but lose the election. This isn't acceptable, it can't be! That the voice of a few, would represent the vote of all?
I'm petitioning you, fellow American: Research this and get involved!Together, we can make every vote count!
