While Christmas, Hanukkah, and Kwanzaa have been supported and endorsed by many in the public eye, we feel that Festivus, for the rest of us, is not taken seriously.
We respectfully ask that the Obama administration erect a Festivus pole on December 23 to enjoy this holiday. It is not commercial, religious, or ethnic in its origins and therefore will not be protested by anyone.
We do not, however, require that anyone participate in any other Festivus practices such as Airing of Greivances, Feats of Strength, or the Festivus Dinner.
All we ask is that the administration erect an unadorned aluminum Festivus pole on 23 December of every year.
