Establish the ability for armed forces personnel to carry firearms on military bases for defense proposes.

With recent memory of the Fort Hood shooting still in our minds and the threat of insider attacks becoming a major possibility, it is apparent that the armed forces require a way to defend themselves. As of now military personnel are not permitted to carry firearms to defend themselves from any attack on a military base. I believe that if anyone should be permitted to carry firearms to defend themselves, their families, and their communities, it should be the armed forces who are specifically trained for that reason. Our troops are at risk and it is our duty as citizens that they protect to ensure that they are able to do so.
