We the People join in prayer and a non-partisan call to action for Congress to establish a special fund for survivors of gun violence.
We affirm that gun ownership is embedded in our American Constitution and our heritage; we reject an outright ban on gun ownership.
Yet, gun violence is the daily price we pay for our American freedom. So, we ask Congress to pass legislation establishing a national fund to aid survivors of gun violence, financed by a few pennies' tax on the manufacture and sale of guns and bullets.
By spreading the risk of loss among millions of people, we strike a balance between our Constitutional right to own a gun and our respect for the sanctity of life and limb.
Now IS the time to put partisan politics aside and take sensible action to stand for the survivors.
