Each night 16 million American children go to bed hungry.
Each school day hungry children roam the halls of our
schools begging for food. Some even find their only
sleeping place in underneath school buildings at night.
These children exist. Teachers are sharing their meager
resources with some and others are dropping out because
they don't have school clothes nor lunch and are ashamed to ask for help.
Drugs have increased the numbers.
Please sign this petition to start an investigation into
childhood hunger, which is the catalysis for so many
problems in our schools today. A hungry child can not
think. We must stop expecting high performance from
children who have empty stomachs.
