Establish a committee to disarm and dismantle the US nuclear arsenal regardless of international armament.

Ever since the first atomic bombs were dropped on Japan in 1945 the world has been living in a constant state of trauma. The knowledge that we can destroy ourselves and our world impacts us in ways we do not even begin to know. Our leaders insist, and probably believe it themselves, that the only way forward is to maintain a balance of nuclear power with the other nations who would do the same. They insist that the threat of total obliteration will deter the next extinction. This strategy of balance has not deterred other wars and it will NOT deter the next global conflict. Is the end of the world an acceptable risk to maintain our national "security"? I'm asking you to join me in petitioning our government to begin disarming and dismantling the nuclear arsenal of the US. Lead the way.
