A proposed amendment to the constitution to read as follows:
In that people holding elected positions were elected to serve their terms and not to campaign for re-election, no person, once elected to any government office, may run for, be elected to, nor campaign for any elected position, including their own, without first resigning their current position and waiting for a period of at least one full term of their last held office.
Any person absent from their elected position, for any reason, for a period of 1% of the current term, will be considered to have resigned from that position and will be ineligible for any benefit, compensation, or re-election. All pensions and benefits cease as of the date of their last attendance of their office.
