The very fact that the United States is home to many different nationalities is a great honor. However, those people are immigrating to our country, and as such, should be required to not only learn but to speak the American English language.
While I support their acknowledgement of the culture they left behind, and duly believe they should be able to carry on with the celebrating of that culture, being an American is an honor that should be duty bound to uphold the customs and culture of our country, and one of those customs should be to preserve the American English language as official.
