establish English as the official national language.

Our state and federal governmental agencies waste a ridiculous amount of money by providing forms in a multitude of languages. I recognize that establishing English as the national language will hurt politically, but it's for the good of the nation. Schools can (and should) still offer foreign languages and citizens should be encouraged to explore and accept other cultures and their languages, but we need to end the waste and make it official. The military requires that you speak clear English to join, why can't we expand that to the rest of the government? I'd like a fact-based response, not just a feel-good statement about accepting other cultures and how they attribute to America's diversity and resulting strength. Facts, numbers, data.
