establish equity guidelines as to how health insurance companies reimburse different providers for identical services.

Created by C.H. on December 14, 2012

It is a fact that providers of health care services are routinely reimbursed at different rates as a consequence of their specialties.
Notably, when identical physical therapy procedures are coded and submitted to major medical insurers, the reimbursements are larger when services are provided by medical doctors than when they are performed by physical therapists, and are even lower when performed by chiropractors.
The relative value of these procedures is equal, as is the amount of effort and time expended, and the end result for the patient is also equal.
As a Chicago chiropractor (http://chibodyworks.com), I can attest to the validity of these statements from personal experience. Laws of equity in reimbursement must be established to immediately rectify this injustice.
