Having a "fair" tax would mean having a federal sales tax of 5% or higher that everyone would pay when purchasing any type of product or manufactured goods and a 1% sales tax for a service. The federal sales tax would be used instead of individuals paying federal income tax. This would be a fair tax for everyone including the rich that have been avoiding taxes due to loopholes in the current IRS system. This fair tax may eliminate corporate double taxation. If amount of a fair tax is established high enough, property taxation could be eliminated in states that collect such taxes.
