Establish a Fathers Equal Rights Act

We need to afford Fathers Equal Rights to their children and allow children their right to have both parents, both sets of families equally in their life. A step parent should not be allowed to have a closer bond with ones child simply because he lives in the home and has more time to build that bond based on the courts denying fathers equal rights and protection under the law. We are in need of a federal mandate requiring all states to treat a childs male parents in a equal manner as a childs female parent. 50/50 custody should be a standard order unless one has abused the child. A father paying child support is at a financial disadvantage when he must fight in court for equal time. Females should not have more time/advantage simply because of their gender.
