The American electoral system is a patchwork of different laws that differ state by state and create issues in voting, ballot confusion, long lines and disputed results.
The Federal government should create a law creating a standard for presidential elections. The law should cover how the election is conducted, how the ballots are taken and the style of ballot.
A non partisan federal election board, separate from the FEC should oversee federal elections and make sure these guidelines are followed.
The law should contain financial incentives for states to motivate them to follow and adopt the law.
