Establish a Federal Flat Sales Tax of 9% to Replace Federal Income Taxes

Created by C.P. on December 19, 2012

As we know, the federal income tax takes a sizeable chunk out of many people's hard earned money. I believe that not only does income tax hurt the economy, it doesn't make a whole lot of sense. Instead of taxing income, where nothing is purchased and the economy is unchanged, we can have a federal flat 9% sales tax rate on goods. It is fair, unbelievably simple, and allots average americans more money in their paychecks, stimulating our economy by allowing more purchases to be made.
