The fire fighters, police officers, EMTs, nurses, doctors and other public employees respond to tragedies and save lives every minute of every day. The heroism of these brave men and women goes largely unrecognized and the signers of this petition encourage the Obama administration to work with members of Congress to establish a federal holiday in their honor.
