Widely disparate State election laws mean some citizens are "more equal than others" depending on where they live.
Some States facilitate participation by as many voters as possible, while others pursue partisan shenanigans to limit participation, such as voter purges, ID laws and misinformation published to specific demographic groups.
Poorly designed ballots and malfunctioning voting machines confuse voters, boost congestion at polling places, delay final vote counts and generally decrease confidence in the notion of free and fair elections.
It's time for the Federal government to establish a nonpartisan agency governing Federal elections, whose mission is to boost voter participation and voter confidence in the election process.
