The safety of our citizens is a high priority and we must find a way to respond to the recent tragedies involving innocent people being killed by people with firearms. One way of responding isn't by banning certain weapons, but helping keep track of and regulate who has them. It won't stop everyone, but it might slow down the criminals and provide more accountability.
1.) Prior to purchasing, buyer must undergo a mental evaluation, pass a drug screening, and obtain certification/licensing on proper use and maintenance of the firearm(s) they intend to purchase.
2.) Require registration of the firearm(s) to be filed with local and federal governments at time of purchase.
3.) Require the renewal of licenses/certifications, mental evaluations, and drug screenings annually.
