Our election process has become corrupted by the power of money. The Supreme Courts ruling that corporations are citizens has made matters worse. All contributions must be made transparent.
Additionally, election systems & voting machines are hackable, voting accountability is rarely audited, there is often no paper trail and voters cast votes on privately owned machines, so voters have no certainty their votes will be tabulated as cast. Voting oversight is often partisan as well.
The only real way to stop corruption in government is to remove the influence of money and special interests in the election process. Campaign Finance Reform and voter owned elections is now more critical than ever to re-establishing our Democratic process and voters confidence in the political process.
