If there was awareness and education on locking weapons availalbe to Mr/s Lanza perhaps there is a slight chance that the killer/murderer would not have gotten his hands on the guns and had time to reflect and not performed the acts that he will be punished for in hell.
There is a technolgy available that prevents a gun from being fired unless it is in the owners hand via a special encoding ring worn by the owner. Perhaps this is a way to prevent also.
Readily available trigger locks and such devices would create a serious deterrent for individuals perhaps slowing them down just enough to stop them and get them help.
