We the people request President Obama and Congress enact legislation effective immediately to control gun access and ban assault weapons and machine guns that are not required for the average citizen.
The National Rifle Association (NRA) and its lobbyists have regulated the guns laws in this country for far too long.
We support:
-the sale of "smart guns"
-a ban on technology that allows a citizen to manufacture a plastic gun that is undetectable by metal detectors and x-ray machines
-extensive background checks so that the mentally ill, suspected terrorists or anyone that fails the background check is banned from purchasing a gun or receiving a gun as a gift from family, friends, etc.
-a ban on assault weapons and machine guns
-"ballistic identification" and "microstamping" methods
