Establish a Gun Control System that maintains the Right to have a firearm but also protects the Public.

Created by T.T. on December 30, 2012

I think what happened in Newtown, CT is a prime example of a growing trend in the US and the world (UK, Norway). If we had a system, where you can buy a gun, (background check needed) but you cannot take it with you. It is held in your name at an Arms Depository. Now, if person needs/wants to use it, he/she will need to state his reason, along with proof (newspaper, police report, shooting range permission?) and each state gets to decide what reasons are reasonable. He must pass a psychological test also. Something that Emergency Room technicians do in Psychiatric Wards. They usually ask 3 questions and your answers determines whether you need anger management classes or to be in a locked down psychiatric ward. Why can't we have something like this?
