We the people, in order to instill safety and security in schools, hereby petition the Obama Administration to establish laws in order to prevent bullying within schools. Bullying is the leading cause of school shootings. Also, bullying has the potential to cause victims to self-harm, self-medicate, and ultimately, take their own lives. Many cases report that a child has committed suicide because they have been bullied and see no alternative.
On average, 13-47% of students experience bullying at least once a week. We ask the Obama Administration to set laws that crack down on the bully epidemic that is sweeping the nation. We call for schools to implement harsher rules and punishments for instances of bullying. It is time to take action against bullying for the children of the USA.
